Innate2Adaptive | Discovery science in protective and pathogenic immunity

We study human immune responses triggered by innate immune germ-line encoded receptors, and by T cell receptors subject to gene recombination selected by prior exposures in adaptive immunity.

We aim to advance personalized/precision medicine for infections and cancer by improving diagnosis and patient stratification, and by driving innovations in vaccine design and immunotherapeutics.

We use sequencing technologies to investigate in vivo human immune responses in clinical samples from patients spanning the natural history of exposures to outcomes, and from volunteers in experimental challenge studies. We complement these studies with mechanistic experiments in laboratory models.

We bring together laboratory, clinician and computational/data scientists to investigate how molecules and cells interact within systems, and integrate clinical and laboratory data to develop mechanistic and predictive models.
