Mahdad Noursadeghi

I am Professor of Infectious Diseases at UCL, and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases at University College London Hospital. I lead research on the immunology of infectious disease to improve diagnosis, predictions of infection or treatment outcomes, and to identify new approaches to vaccination or immunomodulatory treatment of disease. Our current projects focus predominantly on tuberculosis and respiratory virus infections including COVID-19. We combine, laboratory science, epidemiology and bioinformatics to investigate the correlates of protective and pathogenic immunity. We use sequencing technology to make molecular and systems level assessment of human in vivo immune responses in clinical samples and undertake mechanistic studies in laboratory models.
